FAQs

How often should I have my house checked while I am away?

You must check with your home insurance policy or provider.  They will advise you of the correct frequency of checks.

How can I improve my home security?

Using a monitored Alarm System is a great first step.  Install motion sensor lights in those dark areas of your yard.  Use your exterior lights at night and have a timer switch installed to turn them on and off automatically.  Use a peep hole or window to see who is knocking at your door before opening it.  Keep your bushes trimmed away from your windows.  Cut some wood doweling and place it in the sliding window or patio door tracks to prevent the them from being slid open from the outside.

How do I know who is an authorized Security Company or Security Employee?

The BC Government regulates our industry.  We must follow strict rules, all security guards working in BC must be licensed in accordance with the Security Services Act.  All security guards must carry their licence with them at all times while on duty.  You should ask to see the licence prior to letting this person(s) into your home or business.  Further to that, all security companies are also required to be licensed cede and insured in accordance to this act.  You can visit the government website for any further questions. http://www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/securityindustry/
